Synopsis
C. Jonah Jameson of the Daily Bugle revealed Peter Parker's identity as Spider-Man to the world, while simultaneously framing him as the individual responsible for Mysterio's death and an alleged mass casualty event in London. Several nearby civilians began to surround him and Michelle Jones, forcing them to flee from the media and the police. They hide in Parker's apartment and meet with Mae Parker and Happy Hogan, who reveal that they have broken up. Soon after, the US Department of damage control takes them with Ned Leeds in their custody for interrogation. Parker hires Matt Murdock to represent him, who managed to drop his criminal charges. However, when Parker, Jones, and Leeds returned to Midtown High in their senior year, the intense controversy caused them to be rejected from every college they applied to, including MIT
Parker visits the New York campus and asks Doctor Strange to make Spider-Man's identity a secret again to get his friends into MIT. Although he was warned by Wong not to do this, strange attempts to cast the spell using the cove cool runes. However, Parker constantly changes the spell when he asks various individuals close to him to exempt them from its effects. As a result, the spell becomes unstable, forcing strange to contain it. For not consulting with the college administrators before meeting with him, strange viciously expelled Parker from the campus. Contacting Flash Thompson, who was accepted to MIT, Parker drove up to an official heading to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge in an attempt to appeal his applications, Jones and Leeds
Parker is suddenly ambushed by Doctor Octopus, whom he seems to know personally. The octopus doctor catches him and tears off a piece of Iron Spider armor, transferring nanite to his paws. He goes on another strike, but Spider-Man reveals his face, which is unfamiliar to Dr. Octopus. Then Spider-Man takes control of the tentacles of Doctor Octopus with Nanette suit and saves the MIT official from falling from the bridge, who decided to help accept him and his friends out of gratitude
Green Goblin arrives and tries to attack Spider-Man, but he and Doctor Octopus are taken to the sanctuary, where a stranger imprisons Doctor Octopus and lizard. He tells Parker that Dr. Octopus, lizard and the Green Goblin are not from this universe, but from parallel realities within the multiverse, who were attracted to this reality due to the failed spell because they know the identity of Spider-Man. To contain this spell, strange locks her in the macchina de cadavos, a mystical containment unit
Parker was recruited to help find and capture these "visitors", receiving a magic-based upgrade for his suit. With the help of Jones and Leeds, Spider-Man falls out of the city. Stunned, Spider-Man attacks and gains the upper hand, but Sandman intervenes to protect the hero. The two work together to cut the power lines, restoring electro's entire body. When he is sent to the sanctuary, Sandman believes that Spider-Man killed him, but he was also captured before he could take revenge. Elsewhere, Norman Osborn tries to escape his Green Goblin persona, breaking his mask before fleeing to an EU Facility in search of shelter. Spider-Man locates Osborne thanks to Mai and takes him to the sanctuary as well. Osborn, Doctor Octopus and electro soon realize that they are dead and resurrected, which means that if they return home they will die
Strange explains to Spider-Man that these three are doomed to die fighting the Spider-Men. He intends to use the machina to reverse the spell and return them to their fates for the greater multiverse. Convinced that they can be cured of their hostile nature and be spared death, Spider-Man steals the machina before Strange can use it and escapes. He chases Strange, returns the magic of Spider-Man, sends him to the mirror dimension to restore the Machina, while also trying to appeal to him from multiverse bets that are based on returning visitors. Undisturbed, Spider-Man strangely entangles himself in a web Matrix and steals his launcher ring before returning to ground level. He passes the ring to Leeds and Machina to Jones before the prisoners are released from custody
Taking them to the Hogan condominium, Spider-Man tries to offer treats to the multiverse refugees. He starts with Doctor Octopus, using the maker Stark Industries to engineer a replacement inhibitory chip for his tentacles and restore his higher brain functions. In addition, the electrician has an energy siphon installed in it that is designed to extract his powers. But before he can influence Osborne, his body is taken over by the Green Goblin character, who convinces electro to remove the siphon before it completely takes away his abilities. He steals an arc reactor, draws power, and Octavius explodes outside the building. Lizard, hypnotist, and electro escape, while the Green Goblin attacks Spider-Man, sending him to the ground floor. Running outside, he may inject an antidote into a Green Goblin, which does not work. After May with his glider hit the Goblin, Green Goblin threw two pumpkin bombs, which Spider-Man failed to prevent and exploded near her. Spider-Man managed to locate Mai under the rubble. Unaware that she was seriously injured, Mai told her nephew not to give up helping others despite all the odds, and lectured him that with great power comes great responsibility. While surrounded by dodec officers, Spider-Man tries to save Mai, but to no avail, and she dies in front of him. Hogan arrives at the scene and is immediately arrested by the authorities
Grief-stricken, Spider-man flees, his guilt compounded as Jameson covers up the gaslighting of the attack. Growing anxious after the silence of Spider-Man, Jones prepares to activate Machina, but Leeds manages to open a portal with a lever ring by accident. Trying to find Spider-Man, they see what seems to be Spider-Man on the other side of the portal, and contact him. However, they soon realized that this Spider-Man is not theirs, but one from another world who previously fought lizard and electric. Leeds tries again, but calls another replacement Peter Parker, who previously fought Green Joplin, Octavius and hypnotist. The group finally manages to find Spider-Man alone on top of the city center and try to console him about May, but he is so distraught about his mistakes that he doesn't even care about her. Before he can use makshina to send multiverse travelers home, the other two begin to share their personal experiences of loss and bitterness to help him cope and realize that he is not alone
Then the cheerful Spider-Man decides to do what he plans to do: heal the villains. Then Parkers, Jones and Leeds retreat to the classroom laboratory in the city center to find a cure for the villains. Parker from Osborn designs an anti-Green Goblin serum as Parker from electro recreates the lizard antidote to bring him back to normal, while Spider-Man prepares Sandman and electronic's remedies. Afterwards, Leeds brings them to the statue of liberty through the gate while he and Jones remain in the lab
Spider-Man returns for a third solo adventure entitled No Way Home. Always played by Tom Holland, the superhero will have to face several threats. But is the number of villains enough to make a good movie? Here is our opinion.
We don't change a team that wins. Still directed by Jon Watts and played by Tom Holland, Spider-Man: No Way Home is a direct sequel to the second part, and has the difficult task of allowing Marvel to take off again at the box office. It must be said that with the shy scores of Black Widow
This mission is all the more delicate since the film has constantly promoted its ambition. In such a way that he thus takes the risk of disappointing the fans, they who have been multiplying theories for many months on the networks. So, successful bet
No Way Home picks up exactly where the previous film, Far From Home, left off. Spider-Man sees his secret identity revealed in the open and this will greatly disrupt his life and that of his loved ones, especially Ned and MJ
Eager to make up for things, Peter is going to go to Doctor Strange so that he casts a spell so that everyone forgets that he is Spider-Man. Except that because of the interruptions of the young man, the spell goes into a spin and opens a gap into which enemies from other universes rush in
It's no longer a secret as the film has made it the basis of its advertising, No Way Home therefore marks the return of the iconic villains of the sagas worn by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Except this time, they face a very different Spider-Man. A Spider-Man from the MCU
From the very beginning, we find all the specificities of this franchise, that is to say an omnipresent humor and an absence – even to the point of absurdity - of consequences. A very childish vision of the hero pushed here to its climax as she seems to take pleasure in ridiculing each sequence, far from what the end of Far From Home promised. Everything is a pretext for jokes, for the better and especially for the worse
Because if seeing this juvenile Spidey face former opponents of his counterparts had something exhilarating, it becomes especially annoying for the latter. The Green Jester (Willem Dafoe), Doc Ock (Alfred Molina), Electro (Jamie Foxx), the Lizard (Rhys Ifans) and the Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) are thus dispossessed of their respective dramaturgies to fit into the Marvel mold
Goodbye to the inner conflict of men who got lost along the way, and hello to the floodgates on Otto Octavius. It's fun, but incredibly hollow
And then it's there that No Way Home decides to radically change its tone. At the turn of a sequence, the film suddenly takes a much more dramatic turn, rediscovering not only the spirit that inhabited the films of Sam Raimi and Marc Webb, and almost getting rid of all his teenage flaws
As if to symbolize the coming of age for this Spider-Man, the feature film will gain momentum and will be endowed with stakes and consequences. Before our eyes, Peter Parker transforms and gives Tom Holland the opportunity to expand his playing palette with sincere emotions
Cleverly, No Way Home will have presented us with the worst of what this made in Marvel weaver could be, before blasting the whole and rebuilding everything. The fights become more violent, the meta humor is much better placed and we no longer have the feeling that whatever happens, in the end everything will turn out well
In the rubble of a catastrophic first film, a brilliant second film emerges. A rise in power that can be seen even in the staging, the black point of this license, since Jon Watts finally seems at ease with his hero, offering us some very beautiful sequences. And suddenly, Spider-Boy becomes Spider-Man
