The series of boxing films that Sylvester Stallone began in the late 1970s with "Rocky"are among the most popular in the world. No matter how far-fetched or over-the-top the plots of the films have become after the original gritty and mostly realistic, fans have flocked to them in large numbers and continued paying money to see them. When Stallone finally accepted that he was too old to enter the ring anymore, he repositioned his much-loved character, Rocky Balboa, as a trainer, starting the new "Creed" saga in 2015. We now know that the saga will continue
For those who have not kept up with the movies, "Creed" is the story of Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky's old friend Apollo Creed, who now has his own boxing career. He made his film debut, starring Michael B. Jordan , a huge success in the year of its release and grossed more than four times its budget at the box office. That made the sequel inevitable, and so "Creed II" came out in 2018. This film also more than quadrupled its budget with ticket sales, and so the third film was always inevitable. This film, "Creed III", has now been confirmed for release in late 2022 – this time, Michael B. will be working on it.Jordan himself as a director
The film, which is almost certain to be one of the biggest cinematic successes of the coming year, will mark Jordan's directorial debut. Stephen cable Jr. has taken over the directing duties for the two "Creed" films produced to date, but Jordan's appointment reportedly fulfills a promise producer Irwin Winkler made to the actor, who enticed the star back to the part with the opportunity to lead the project and make it according to his own vision. He will have a greater impact on this vision than the average director because he was also named as an executive producer of the film. This means that Jordan's name is scattered throughout the project, but so far, Sylvester Stallone's name has been strangely absent
The story of Rocky Balboa was given equal importance to that of the young Creed in the previous two films, with the legendary boxer battling cancer and his own grief as he trains his pupil for success in the ring, but at the time of writing, there was no confirmation that Stallone is associated with the project at all. That would be surprising given the fact that, at least theoretically, the rights to the "Rocky" series remain with Stallone, and the veteran actor has not given any indication that he intends to retire from his chosen profession anytime soon. If it turns out that he will not contribute to the writing or production of the third film and will not appear in it himself, this may indicate the idea that he is working on another project related to "Rocky"
In 2019, in an interview that seemed to go unnoticed by the majority of the mainstream press, Stallone told "Variety" that while he earns money from past and current sales of the films "Rocky" and "Creed", along with associated merchandise, his ownership is not absolute and he earns less from them than he feels he should be entitled to. At the same time as he made this surprising statement, The Hollywood legend revealed that he was working on an alternative "Rocky" film that would see his character serve as a coach for an illegal immigrant to the United States, fighting for his rights to citizenship as well as glory in the ring. Stallone did not name the project at the time, but MGM was said to be "very keen" on the idea. Apart from that, Stallone also wanted to make a TV series about a young Rocky Balboa and sell it to a streaming service. If these ideas have advanced since the 2019 interview, he may now be too busy developing them to devote his time to a third "Creed" film
While two new films plus a TV series may push most franchises past the saturation point, "Rocky" is different. Their success in online slots sites is enough to confirm this. While creating online slot machines based on successful TV series or movies is not a new idea, the "Rocky" slot makes more money than most types of "movies". In fact, such was the success of the official "Rocky" online slots game that a digital game accompanying "scratch card" was released for online casinos last year. As long as there is an army of fans who love the franchise so much that they will spend money on online slot machines to be a part of it, the studios will always make more content. If the two films were released with a reasonable gap between them and the series was released on a platform such as Netflix, there is no reason to believe that each of them could not attract large audiences
While reading between the lines might tell us a lot about where Sylvester Stallone is in terms of "rocky," it doesn't tell us much about the state of" the third Creed " other than the fact that it's being made, and filming won't start until late 2021. Given the amount of time and work it takes to shoot and then edit a major Hollywood project in 2020, this means that a late 2022 release may be too much to hope for, and despite the current intentions of the producers, the film could easily slip into early 2023. It is hoped that she will not associate herself too strongly with the elements of the previous "Rocky" films, something that the sequel was probably guilty of by setting the creed against the son of Rocky's opponent "Rocky IV" Ivan Drago, but instead tries to tell us something new. If Stallone does not participate, the chances of this may be higher. This is a great opportunity for Michael B. Jordan as a director for the first time, but it's also a risky opportunity. If a guy is at the helm when a previously successful movie franchise tanks, it can ruin his directing career before it starts. We are sure that it will not happen, though. If there is one thing that the history of the film tells us, it is that where the "Rocky" franchise goes, money follows

Michael Baker Jordan, simply Michael B. Jordan. Jordan, an American actor, director and producer, was born on February 9, 1987 in Santa Ana (California)
He first became known on television, in particular for his role as Wallace, a young drug dealer, in the American police television series on tap, and for the role of Vince Howard, the quarterback in the last two seasons of the drama series Friday Night Lights
He emphasizes, in cinema, in particular thanks to his interpretation of Adonis Creed, who succeeded Sylvester Stallone in the films Creed: the legacy of Rocky Balboa and Creed 3, but also through the role of Eric Killmonger, the enemy of the Black Panther in the blockbuster Black Panther or Brian Stevenson in the drama the way of Justice
On March 1, 2023, Michael B. Jordan is the 165th black artist to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The son of a caterer and an artist and guidance counselor at a high school, Michael Bakari Jordan has an older sister and a younger brother
He started his career very early, as a model, before being spotted by Bill Cosby. Thus, in 1999, Michael B. Jordan made his debut at the age of twelve in an episode of the television series Cosby and The Sopranos
After a small role in the cinema (Hardball in 2001), he landed a more important role in the first season of the multi-awarded and critically acclaimed series On tap
He continues to learn his acting profession in the soap opera The Force of Fate, between 2003 and 2006, for about fifty episodes
Debut and television revelation (2006-2012) Edit
The actor in 2011, at the NBC back-to-school party
At the exit, he followed up appearances in police series: Experts, FBI: Missing, Cold Case: Closed Cases, and appeared in 2007 in the TV movie Blackout, alongside Zoe Saldana and Jeffrey Wright, dedicated to the tensions observed in the Brooklyn district, in New York, following the general power outage of the summer of 2003 in the United States
In 2008, he ends up joining the main cast of the comedy The Assistants, which stops after 13 episodes, in 2009. He also starts with a role in the acclaimed sports drama series Friday Night Lights, the fourth season of which indeed introduces a new generation of high school students. His role as Vince Howard stands out as the pillar of this promotion, until the end of the series, at the end of the 5th season, in 2011
In 2010, the executive producer of the series, Jason Katims, entrusted him with a recurring role in his next project, the family comedy-drama Parenthood. He plays for 16 episodes the role of Alex, a young man from a disadvantaged background whose eldest daughter from one of the families of the series is surprised
At the same time, he participates in the fifteenth episode of the ninth season of New York, Criminal section, broadcast in 2010 and in two episodes of the third and last season of Lie to Me, scheduled in 2011
The year 2012 marks a turning point: if the pilot of a new series, County, a medical fiction developed by Jason Katims in which he would have played a young intern does not succeed, he lands his last guest role in a very exposed series, Dr House
Alongside Sylvester Stallone and Tessa Thompson for the promotion of Creed: The Legacy of Rocky Balboa, in 2015
It was on the big screen that he distinguished himself that year: first as part of the main cast of the war film Red Tails, produced by George Lucas, but especially in the independent science fiction thriller Chronicle, by Josh Trank. This surprise critical and commercial success, which he shares with the equally young Dane DeHaan and Alex Russell, places him among the actors to follow
He confirmed the following year as the main actor of the independent drama Fruitvale Station, written and directed by the debutant Ryan Coogler. This chronicle which retraces the true story of a young man shot in the back by a policeman in Oakland and whose images had circulated on the Internet, is acclaimed by critics, and stands out in many ceremonies and festivals
This double performance allows him to follow up with more commercial productions: first of all, he forms with the young star Zac Efron and another revelation of American independent cinema, Miles Teller, a trio of attractive young singles. The film works commercially, failing to convince the critics
The actor at Comic-Con 2016 for the presentation of the cast of Black Panther
At the same time, the two directors who revealed it trust him again for their following projects: he is the first actor to join the reboot of the Fantastic Four by Josh Trank, who is making his debut at the head of a blockbuster. Jordan plays Johnny Storm, the brother of Susan Storm, to whom Kate Mara will lend her features. The roles of Benjamin Grimm / The Thing and Reed Richards will be assigned to Jamie Bell and Miles Teller respectively. However, the film is an industrial accident, experiencing a tumultuous production, and the final version of which is disapproved by the director. The box office is catastrophic and the franchise plans canceled by the studio
However, he can count on Ryan Coogler to put him back in the saddle: he returns to the social drama, thanks to the title role of the unexpected Creed: The Legacy of Rocky Balboa, a spin-off of the Rocky saga. The film was a great critical and commercial success in November 2015, and a sequel was ordered
And during the 2017 edition of the San Diego Comic-Con for the promotion of Black Panther
In 2018, he returns to Marvel superheroes, but this time on the side of the antagonists: he plays Erik Killmonger in the blockbuster Black Panther, the adaptation of the eponymous Marvel comics. This film receives a rave critical reception in addition to a wide commercial success. To prepare for this major role, the actor had to undergo intense training based on sprint and weightlifting sessions. An interpretation that has earned him numerous awards and nominations during award ceremonies
Propelled to the status of an international star, this success allows him, for his next projects, to don the cap of producer associated with his company, Outlier Society, and, at the same time, sign an agreement with the Amazon platform
He plays Montag, one of the two protagonists of the TV movie produced by the HBO channel, Fahrenheit 451, new adaptation of the classic by Ray Bradbury. A work rewarded at the prestigious PGA Awards ceremony with the award for the best production
He grants himself a small role in the action and science fiction film, Kin: The Beginning. Finally, he ends the year with a bang, returning in the role of Adonis Creed for Creed II, which confirms the commitment of the first part, and of which he also ensures the role of executive producer. He collaborates with the Warner Bros studio to produce the adaptation of the fantasy novel Black Leopard, Red Wolf by the author Marlon James. The project is described as an African Game of Thrones. At the same time, he joins the drama Just Mercy alongside Brie Larson and Jamie Foxx, expected in theaters in 2020
For its spring-summer 2019 collection, the Coach label chooses him as its male muse. At the 25th Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony, the entire cast of Black Panther wins the statuette for the best cast and Michael B. Jordan is then strongly pressed to resume his role while waiting for the second part of the adventures of the Black Panther. The same year, during the 50th edition of the NAACP Image Awards, the actor finds himself competing for three awards: that of the best actor in a supporting role for Black Panther, that of the best actor for Creed 2 and that of the best actor in a television movie for Fahrenheit 451. He leaves with two trophies out of three, losing to Chadwick Boseman for the best actor award
Then, he produces and grants himself a role in the fantasy series How to Raise a superhero distributed by Netflix. In 2019, he plays the first role in Destin Daniel Cretton's film, The Path of Justice retracing the fight of lawyer Bryan Stevenson (himself) to save the skin of innocent blacks sentenced to death in Alabama, including Walter McMillian (Jamie Foxx). This production, in which he officiates as producer, is praised by the critics [, it is notably elected best film at the 51st NAACP Image Awards ceremony and Jordan wins him the best actor award
He continues as a headliner with the first role in the thriller Without Any Remorse, distributed by Paramount Pictures, whose release has been postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The film follows the revenge of a former member of the United States Navy special forces following the murder of his wife. The film is inspired by Tom Clancy's novel, Without any remorse
On March 1, 2023, he is once again the headliner of the film Creed III, of which he is also the director. The film receives a very favorable critical reception from the first week of release at the box office, despite the remarkable absence of Sylvester Stallone who was nevertheless present in the two previous opuses of the Creed trilogy
