Ride on is a 2023 Chinese action drama film written and directed by Larry Yang, and stars Jackie Chan, Liu Haokun, and Guo Qilin.The film tells the story of an old-school stunt artist and his sexy horse. The film was released in China

Lao Luo is a prolific stuntman who works with his Red Rabbit, his sexy horse deformed at birth that saved him from euthanasia. His life is falling apart-he suffered a serious injury that led to his bankruptcy 8 years ago and lost custody of his daughter, Xiao Bao, after divorcing his late wife while she was still young. One night, Lau and red hair get into a fight with debt collectors and soon learn that red hair is in danger of being auctioned off after the bankruptcy of their original company. Lau seeks legal help from PAO, now a university student studying law, and although reluctant at first, she offers him the services of her boyfriend naihua
Meanwhile, after Lau's fight with debt collectors went viral, he and red hair were cast in several films, and Pao became his assigned agent. Although they are able to help each other through difficult situations, Pao soon expresses his discomfort with Lau's stunt, fearing that he and red hair will suffer serious injuries. After Lao Bao is embarrassed in front of naihua's parents, she leaves him in disgust. Subsequently, Lau and red hair were seriously injured during a stunt and as a result, Lau was sent to the hospital. While searching Lau's house for an identity card, Pao learns that he saved CCTV footage of a failed meeting he had with her when she was younger. The touched Pao reconciles with Lau in the hospital, and Lau promises to stop doing stunt work
One night, Lau wakes up to witness debt collectors trying to rob red hair; after a brief confrontation, he pays off his debt and invites dami ji, a leading serial killer in debt collection, to become one of his disciples. The next day, Yuanji, Lao's Apprentice, invites him to take a role in his film that honors the stunt - Lao accepts as the last job, much to Bao's displeasure. During the filming, Lau insists on performing a dangerous stunt himself, but is unable to finish it after remembering Pao's words and quits the job. Despite being able to reconcile with Bao again, Lau loses the red hair case, and is forced to sell it to a company. Bao and naihua refused to be left torn, and convinced the company's CEO, He Xin, to bring red hair back and showed him footage of Lau's previous stunts to showcase his dedication to his work. Shen returns red hair to Lao, explaining that he intends to return the horse already - red hair tried to starve himself while owning the company. Shen leaves while Lao, Bao, and naihua meet with red hair

Director Larry Yang is a fan of Jackie Chan and wrote the script after watching a documentary about Kung Fu acrobatic businessmen first, Larry looked for Chan to check out the script for the film but he refused and asked him to revise it in months.Yang took five days to complete the review and sent it to Chan again where he accepted the invitation to shoot

Until yesterday when The Legend of action cinema and Director Larry Yang presented a new, luxurious poster of their new film during a press conference held on the occasion of the 35th Golden Rooster Awards ("Oscars" of Chinese cinema)
This new poster focuses exclusively on the relationship between Jackie Chan's Lao Lou and his horse but only mentions an unconfirmed "soon" as a date. The film was originally scheduled to premiere on December 31, 2022 before being pulled from the lineup. However, it is possible to hope that the release will be announced very soon between December 2022 (since the covid crisis, films in China are sometimes announced only a week before their release!) And early 2023
Described as a fascinating and joyful adventure about attachment to animal and family reconciliation, riding on tells The Adventures of Lau Loh, a stuntman swept away by the years who can barely make ends meet and even less take care of his beloved horse, the Red Rabbit.
