The following month, Sylvester Stallone reveals that his first choice for the role of the main villain would be Jack Nicholson or that he would also like Clint Eastwood
In December 2016, Sylvester Stallone announced that this fourth installment would be the last in the saga, which was then scheduled for release in 2018
In March 2017, it was revealed that Sylvester Stallone would have left the project and the franchise, after artistic differences over the script and the direction taken by the franchise
In January 2018, the actor-director finally announced his return to social networks, which confirmed the development of a fourth film. Randy Couture confirms his engagement shortly after. In July, the screenwriter Gregory Poirier his participation in the film. In April 2020, it was announced that the script had been finalized. Patrick Hughes, director of the third film, is initially announced on this film. In August 2021, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Scott Waugh replaced Patrick Hughes as director. It is specified that Spenser Cohen wrote the last version of the script by Max Adams and John Joseph Connolly. That same month, it was also announced that a film centered on Lee Christmas, the character played in the previous three films by Jason Statham, was in development. It is tentatively titled A Christmas Story. The shooting of a film of the saga is mentioned for October 2021
In June 2020, Jean-Claude Van Damme — performer of Jean Vilain in :EXPEND4BLES Special Unit - expresses his desire to return to the franchise and presents the idea of his character's brother, Claude, who would return for revenge
At the end of August 2021, the project was relaunched with the arrival of three "recruits": Megan Fox, 50 Cent and Tony Jaa. In September, it was announced that Andy García was cast as a CIA liaison officer. At the end of October, it is announced that Indonesian actor Iko Uwais will be the main villain of the film
Filming begins in October 2021. It takes place in London, Bulgaria and Greece, in particular in Thessaloniki. On October 15, Sylvester Stallone finishes his scenes and announces that he will not return to the franchise, that he is passing the torch to his friend Jason Statham for the rest of the saga. The film will therefore serve as both a fourth part and a spin-off highlighting the character of Lee Christmas. Filming ends in January 2022
Jason Statham (born July 26, 1967 in Shirebrook, England) is a British actor and producer
He is best known for his role as Frank Martin in the first three films of the action saga The Transporter, but also for his collaborations with Guy Ritchie (Snatch) or Sylvester Stallone (in the Expendables film series), as well as for several films in the Fast and Furious series
Before his acting career, he was also a model and practices diving at high nivea
50Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, born July 6, 1975 in Queens, New York, is an American rapper, music producer, actor, composer and businessman. Jackson started selling drugs at the age of ten, then embarked on a musical career in 2000, during which time he was shot and wounded. After the publication of his compilation Guess Who's Back? in 2002, 50 Cent was discovered by Eminem and signed to Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records
With the help of Eminem and Dr. Dre, who produced his first album on a major label in 2003 (Get Rich or Die Tryin'), Jackson has become the most popular rapper of the moment and participates in the East Coast rap collective G-Unit (which he leads de facto). In 2003, he founded G-Unit Records, signing his G-Unit associates Young Buck, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. Jackson achieved further success with the publication of his second album, The Massacre, in 2005. Other albums will follow thereafter with a more moderate success including the last, Street King Immortal, in 2016
Throughout his career, Jackson has sold more than 70 million albums and has been awarded several times. He is the holder of a Grammy Award, thirteen Billboard Music Awards, six World Music Awards, three American Music Awards and four BET Awards. He is also an actor and appears in his autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005), as well as in other films such as The Desert Soldiers (2006), Law and Order (2008) or Escape (2013)
Jackson comes from the neighborhood of Jamaica, in the borough of Queens in New York, and is raised in precarious conditions by his mother, Sabrina of Haitian origin, who gave birth to him when she was only fifteen years old. She sells crack cocaine and educates her son in parallel until his murder in 1983: she was only twenty-three years old when she died in a fire. At that time, Jackson was only eight years old. After his mother's death, Jackson moves in with his grandparents with eight uncles and aunts. He says: "I remember that my grandmother told me ; "Your mother won't come home, she won't come back to take you back, so you will stay with us now. "That's when I started hanging out on the street. "His father James Jackson II is a son of Jamaican immigrants, he will be absent throughout his son's life, because he was imprisoned for life for murder in 1975
He started boxing at the age of eleven, and opened a local gym for young people at the age of 14. Jackson recalls: "When I wasn't in class, I spent my time in the gym or selling crack cocaine". In the mid-1980s, he participated in the Junior Olympics as a boxer in the amateur category. His goal is to fight in the Golden Gloves boxing tournament but he is not allowed to participate in the competition because of his young age. Jackson makes the connection between rap and boxing ; "I had a competitive spirit in the ring and hip-hop is also a competition. I think rappers prepare almost like boxers, they all want to become champions. "At the age of 12, Jackson starts selling narcotics, goes to school with weapons, and hides the profit from his sales. He is finally apprehended because of a metal detector at Andrew Jackson High School. He would later admit: "I was embarrassed to get arrested like that. It's the worst way to be arrested. After my arrest, I stopped hiding. I openly told my grandmother "I sell drugs"
On June 29, 1994, Jackson was arrested for helping sell four ampoules of cocaine to plainclothes police officer William Howlett, then head of the New York department of the DEA. He was arrested again three weeks later when the police searched his apartment and found heroin, 280 grams of crack cocaine and a starter pistol. He faces three to nine years in prison, but he is finally sentenced to a seven-month substitute sentence in a rehabilitation camp with military methods and discipline. He obtained his GED (General Educational Development) there, the high school exit exam. He adopts the nickname "50 Cent" in reference to a New York criminal, Kelvin Martin, who worked in Brooklyn in the 1980s, and whose nickname was 50 Cent; "I took the name of 50 Cent because it says everything I want to say. I'm the same kind of person as 50 Cent. I find something to live on by all means
Jackson started rapping at a friend's house where he used a phonograph to record his voice over instrumental tracks. In 1996, a friend made him meet Jam Master Jay from the band Run-DMC and whose label is JMJ Records. This is the first time that 50 Cent has entered the studio. Jay teaches her to keep a rhythm, write choruses, structure her songs and make a recording. His first official appearance is for a song called React, by the band Onyx, in the album Shut 'Em Down, released in 1998. He acknowledges that Jam Master Jay influenced him and helped improve his ability to write choruses. Jay also produces from 50 Cent an album that has never been released from the studio. The association with Jam Master Jay lasts only a few years. In 1999, the Trackmasters label signed 50 Cent, who was then preparing to release his first album, Power of the Dollar, on Columbia Records. Jackson to found Hollow Point Entertainment with former G-Unit member Bang 'Em Smurf
The album Power of the Dollar is selling quite well and is largely produced by Trackmasters. Some songs will also be found on the Guess Who's Back compilation? released in 2002. Jackson's popularity increased significantly after the publication of the controversial underground single How to Rob, a single that he wrote in half an hour when he was on his way to the recording studio. In this single, he explains how he plans to do to steal famous artists. Rappers Jay-Z, Kurupt, Sticky Fingaz, Big Pun, DMX, Wyclef Jean and Wu-Tang Clan respond negatively to this single, and Nas invites Jackson to join him on his Nastradamus tour. Before the publication of How to Rob accompanied by the single Thug Love (with Destiny's Child), Jackson was shot and hospitalized. Power of the Dollar is the album that should have revealed the rapper to the general public, if he had not been the victim of a shooting, which led to him being left by his record company, Columbia Records.50 Cent in 2003
On July 2, 2000, Jackson was attacked by an assailant (supposedly named Darryl "Hommo" Baum) near his grandmother's old house. He enters a friend's car when his assailant shoots him nine times with a 9 mm pistol. Jackson is hit in the hands, legs, shoulder, right cheek and left cheek. The sequelae of this assault include the pierced tongue, the loss of a wisdom tooth and a voice that has become slightly impasto; the friend who accompanies him is also wounded by gunshot and shot in the hand. Despite everything, they manage to drive to the hospital, where Jackson will be taken care of for thirteen days. Baum, a close friend and bodyguard of Mike Tyson is killed three weeks later. Jackson recalls that moment: It happened so fast that I couldn't fight back... I was scared from the beginning to the end... I was looking in the rearview mirror and thinking, Damn, someone shot me in the face! It's burning, it's burning, it's burning
Helped by a walker for six weeks, Jackson manages to heal completely in five months. After leaving the hospital, he stays in Poconos with his girlfriend and his movie
At the hospital, Jackson signs a contract with Columbia Records before being abandoned by the label and banned from the music industry for his single Ghetto Qu'ran. Unable to record in a studio in the United States, he left for Canada. With his partner Sha Money XL, Jackson recorded thirty songs on mixtapes in order to build a reputation. In an interview with HitQuarters, Marc Labelle from Shady Records explains that Jackson turned the mixtape circuit to his advantage
In 2002, Eminem discovered the album Guess Who's Back? from Jackson, given by his lawyer who works with Eminem's manager, Paul Rosenberg. Impressed, Eminem invites Jackson to Los Angeles and introduces him to Dr. Dre. After signing a million-dollar contract, Jackson released No Mercy, No Fear. The mixtape features a new song, Wanksta, which appeared in the soundtrack of Eminem's film 8 Mile. Jackson released his debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin' (described by AllMusic as "probably the most hyped debut album released by a rapper in a decade"), in February 2003. It reached number one on the Billboard 200, with 872,000 copies sold in just four days. The lead single In da Club becomes the most listened to song on the radio in a week according to Billboard
Interscope gave Jackson his own label, G-Unit Records, in 2003. He signed Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Young Buck as members of G-Unit. After the success of Get Rich or Die Tryin', 50 Cent joins forces with DJ Whoo Kid and the Hot 97 radio channel is created, in March 2003, the G-Unit Radio, a radio show in which the future members of G-Unit Records will deliver exclusive interviews and freestyles. They receive guests like The Game, Mobb Deep or Freeway. At the very beginning, the show did not have the success that 50 Cent expected, it was then that he decided to bring together all the previously unreleased tracks broadcast in a free mixtape entitled G-Unit Radio: Smoking Day in April 2003. From that moment on, the G-Unit Radio show will have a greater success and reach a wider audience. In order not to lose their listeners, DJ Whoo Kid and the G-Unit continue to publish free mixtapes every two months. In total, 25 free mixtapes from the G-Unit Radio will be released between 2003 and 2007
In November 2004, The Game and 50 Cent recorded the track How We Do, produced by Dr. Dre, which is a commercial success worldwide. They then recorded several titles together, such as Hate it or Love it, which are also hits. This allows The Game to become a member of G-Unit. In March 2005, Jackson's second album, The Massacre, sold 1.4 million copies in four days and reached number one on the Billboard 200 for six weeks. Jackson subsequently signed Olivia and Mobb Deep to G-Unit Records, then even later Spider Loc, M.O.P., 40 Glocc and Young Hot Rod. Jackson expresses his interest in working with other rappers other than those of G-Unit, such as Lil Scrappy from BME Recordings, LL Cool J from Def Jam, Ma$e from Bad Boy and Freeway from Roc-A-Fella. In January 2005, 50 Cent produced its own video game: 50 Cent: Bulletproof. In it, the player embodies the rapper himself and aims to find the killer who tried to murder him. The game was developed by Genuine Games during the year 2005 and was released in November 2005 on Playstation 2 and Xbox. 50 Cent: Bulletproof is not really very successful with only 43% of positive reviews
Jackson is less and less present on the music scene from 2004. During this period, 50 Cent created his clothing line, which bears the name of his group, G-Unit Clothing. He signed contracts with Reebok and other brands and opened his own production label, G-Unit Records. In 2006, the autobiographical film produced by Interscope/Shady/Aftermath Films was released in France. The title is the name of his debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin. Despite a certain public success, this film is for many weeks in the top 50 of the worst rated films on the IMDB website. He is making another film, Home of the Brave, the reviews of which are quite positive
In 2006, a major dispute broke out within the G-Unit group between The Game and 50 Cent due to a disagreement. Indeed, the latter finds that rappers Nas and Jay-Z have no talent and that they do not deserve the notoriety they possess. The Game, on the other hand, finds that these two rappers, in particular Nas, fully deserve the recognition they have. Several not particularly violent altercations ensue. Finally The Game leaves the G-Unit. However, each of the two rappers continues to broadcast provocative titles towards the other, such as 50 Cent with the songs Emotional or Not Rich Still Lying or The Game with the Stop Snitchin' Stop Lyin' mixtape. The clashes will continue until 2010. In 2006, Jackson shoots a commercial for Vitaminwater, a vitamin drink, and uses his salary to buy shares in the company (10%). This same company was bought in 2007 by Coca-Cola for the sum of $ 4 billion, 50 Cent would then have realized a gain of about $ 100 million after taxes
On September 11, 2007, 50 Cent released their third studio album titled Curtis. The album contains productions by Dr. Dre, d'eminem, Timbaland and several other producers. 50 Cent also invites various artists such as Akon, Justin Timberlake, Nicole Scherzinger, as well as other notable musicians. The specialized press notes that the rapper had divided his album between "hard" and "soft" songs. Curtis enjoyed significant commercial success, selling 691,000 copies in its first week of release[ref. necessary]. Kanye West's Graduation album sales competition is considered "a big day for hip-hop. "The album, ranked second on the Billboard 200, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Internet Albums, is certified platinum with more than a million copies sold in the United States[ref. necessary]. In September 2007, 50 Cent and the Hot 97 radio channel decided to put an end to the G-Unit Radio. Indeed, the show is getting less and less audience and listeners blame the G-Unit for never being present during live broadcasts. 50 Cent therefore publishes one last free mixtape: G-Unit Radio 25: Sabrina's Baby Boy, before DJ Whoo Kid fully takes over the controls of the show he renamed Whoolywood
In May 2008, 50 Cent released a promotional album entitled Body Snatchers in collaboration with the G-Unit, well rated but without real success. In August 2008, Forbes magazine estimated that he had earned $ 150 million in one year, thus placing him at the top of the ranking of annual earnings in the music industry, ahead of rapper Jay-Z. In February 2009, 50 Cent released a second video game: 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, developed by Swordfish Studios and then published by THQ. The game is released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and is much more successful than the first one. In November 2009, 50 Cent released his fourth album under the label Aftermath entitled Before I Self Destruct (the last of his current contract with his record label), after almost a year of waiting. His first single Baby By Me featuring Ne-Yo enters directly at number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. The video film Before I Self Destruct, written and directed by the rapper, was also published at the end of 2009. In addition, he co-authored a book with the writer Robert Greene, The 50th Law. During 2010, he appears in numerous collaborations with several artists such as Jeremih, Soulja Boy, Bobby Valentino or Mann. He also sings with Michael Jackson on the latter's posthumous album on the title Monster although it will be revealed later that it was not Michael Jackson who sang but a vocal doppelganger of the latter
At the beginning of 2011, Jackson announced the arrival on the market of a new helmet, Street by 50 Cent. He then does several freestyles to promote this project, but after two months Sleek cancels the release of his headphones because they were more concerned with headphones than wireless headphones. The headphones, which target athletes above all, will integrate biometric sensors to monitor the activity of the human body during exercise. He then prepares his new album announced for November 2011, and works with David Guetta on Bullshit and Party for the latter's next album scheduled for August 29, 2011. Jackson released his first single from his album, on June 17, Outlaw, available on iTunes on July 27, then his second single I'm on It, before the cancellation of the album by his label Interscope Records. He cancels the release of the Psycho single from Dr. Dr. Detox. On Saturday, August 20, he releases the remix of Dev In The Dark. 50 Cent announces a big tour at the end of the year called G-Unit Tour 2012 with Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, Cashis, Mobb Deep, Jadakiss, Akon with the appearance of Eminem, Obie Trice, Stat Quo, M.O.P. and DMX
On June 5, 2014, 50 Cent released his fifth solo album entitled Animal Ambition. Despite an important advertising campaign, the album only sells 40,188 copies, which places it in sixth place in the sales of the week behind big sellers like Coldplay or country singer Miranda Lambert. Indeed, the rapper has a much less important buzz than when he started. Since his return, his fans have criticized him for writing easier and easier texts and poorer and poorer rhymes and for moving away from the gangsta rap style. 50 Cent defended himself against these remarks in an interview he gave in 2012, in which he said that today, all these "old school" songs would no longer bring much: We must stop living in the past, if I had continued to make the same kind of music as in 2003, 2004, I would be screwed. There is a moment when you have to eat
Since the beginning of 2013, 50 Cent has been touring with the G-Unit, and giving small concerts in the United States. Since the release of his album Animal Ambition, 50 Cent has only been working with the G-Unit, and devotes less on his solo career. On August 15, 2015, however, 50 Cent unveiled his new single 9 Shots, as well as the music video. In this track, 50 Cent returns to the assault he suffered in 2000 (as he had already done in the titles Many Men and Hustler Ambitions) while approaching an "old school" style, whether in the instrumental or in the lyrics. The song is much more successful than those present on Animal Ambition
On January 30, 2020, rappers Dr. Dre and Eminem reunite in Hollywood to celebrate 50 cent's Walk of Fame
In 2020 he participates in the Super Bowl Halftime Show alongside Eminem, Snoop Dog, Mary J. Blige and Dr. Dre. Together, they perform Eminem's hit Lose Yourself
He is supporting Donald Trump for the 2020 US presidential election. The following week, he changes his opinion by saying on Twitter: "Donald Trump fuck off, I never liked him
